The Breakup of a Romance

The breakup of a romance is, “How can I put this….memorable, that’s the word.” Consider the young lad, sitting home bored on a Saturday night. He ventured out for a night of club hopping. After indulging in fine or six shots of Hennessey the music beckoned him to dance, (or was it the liquor?), he could not tell nor did he care, back to the story. After being rejected not once or twice, but dare I say thrice by lass after lass. The fourth lass relented and sashayed to the dance floor with him.
The dancing, drinking and seduction continued until last call, (though the later he did not realize until the end). To her car they stroll, driving to a seclude spot in close proximity of her abode, (this too the lad was not privy to). While regrouping from their tryst, a light tapping came upon the roof of the car. A preteen’s voice announced, “Mom, Dad is on the phone”. The awe-filled lad bid the lass good night and began his trek home. Contemplating the night’s events, the feelings of being used, disappointed, and a bit fearful, made way to a rejuvenated, joyous, quixotic euphoria, as if a mystery was revealed to him.
From that moment on, he has always sought the company of older women, even unto marriage.

A romantic break up is, if anything memorable.
